Candace Kregg — Award-Winning Documentary & Television Editor
I’m an award-winning documentary and television editor specializing in nonfiction, long-form storytelling, and founder-led narratives. My work focuses on shaping narrative clarity, emotional resonance, and cultural impact across film, television, and independent projects.
I was a Peabody Award–winning editor on Surviving R. Kelly, a project that also received an Emmy nomination and an MTV Movie Award, and have edited award-recognized television series and documentaries for platforms including Netflix, MTV, VH1, Discovery, Lifetime, and E!.
My editorial work includes NAACP Image Award–winning episodes of Iyanla: Fix My Life, large-scale unscripted television such as Jersey Shore Family Vacation, and the Netflix series WAGS to Riches, which ranked in the platform’s Top 3 titles upon release.
Most recently, I served as the sole editor on the feature documentary Tight & Nerdy, which premiered at the Heartland Film Festival, receiving both the Audience Choice Award and the Humor & Humanity Award, and is currently screening at San Francisco IndieFest.
Beyond traditional film and television, my work extends into cultural and institutional storytelling. Recent projects include editorial work on Still Here, a touring immersive theater and art installation exploring the impact of HIV and AIDS on Black women, recently featured in Essence magazine, as well as narrative brand storytelling for founder-led organizations and independent brands.
Across formats, my approach centers on editorial judgment, narrative architecture, and respect for the lived experiences at the heart of each story.
I’m the founder and editorial director of Imagination Bureau, a boutique creative studio where I lead narrative strategy, editorial direction, and client relationships. Working collaboratively with a small, senior team, I partner with filmmakers, institutions, and founders to shape stories that require care, conviction, and creative restraint.
I’m selectively available for editorial and narrative partnerships in documentary film, television, and founder-led storytelling projects that value craft, trust, and long-term impact.
